Give a Child a Chance
Making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in Berkshire.
Give a Child a Chance supports both children, their families, and groups working with children up to the age of 18. The fund is targeted towards children with physical or learning disabilities, children with psychological and behavioural issues, and those living in care and areas of deprivation.
Right now, as you read this, Give a Child a Chance is hard at work supporting families and local community groups in real need across Berkshire.
Some of the groups and families we have supported in the last 12 months include:
- 5th Windsor Scout Group in Dedworth received a grant to help replace the window and doors in their scout hut.
- Give a Child a Chance bought a fridge freezer and tumble dryer for a disadvantage family of four children.
- Parenting Special Children were awarded funds to expand their Diagnosis Support Service into West Berkshire.
- Resolve will use their grant award to run a fun, interactive course in Secondary schools in Reading helping challenging young people handle their feelings and behaviour.
- A talented young carer was given a grant to enable her to join an athletic club and purchase the necessary equipment.
- United Somali Youth of Slough were given funds to train football coaches and pay for pitch hire to make their youth football project more sustainable
