Give a Child a Chance Grants
Amount: up to £1,000 for individuals or £2,000 for groups

Purpose: Give a Child a Chance grants aim to help children with special needs and/or those in need.

Closing dates: 15th January and 15th May each year

Notes: We strongly advise all potential applicants to contact our Grants Team to discuss their requirements before completing their application.  Applications for grants for individuals will not be considered unless supported by at least two professional referees such as a Doctor, Support Worker, Teacher etc.

Grassroots Grants
Amount: £250 to £5,000

Purpose:The aim of the Grassroots Grants Programme is to increase immediate grant funding and capacity building support to small voluntary and community groups and organisations, enabling them to continue or expand their work, including advocacy, community voice and service provision.  For further information please see our Grassroots Grants page.

Closing dates: 1st of each month (excluding January and August)

Notes: Any organisation established for charitable purposes can apply, provided there is a formal structure which will allow for monitoring of activity. Groups should meet the following criteria:

  • Be a not-for-profit, third sector voluntary or community group, active in their local community for not less than 12 months prior to application

  • Have an income of less than £30,000 per annum, taken as an average over the last three years

  • Be volunteer led (i.e. have a largely volunteer based input)

  • Be connected with and/or meeting the needs of the local community

  • Have a constitution/terms of reference

Mars Grants
Amount: £500 or more

Purpose: Grants for projects based within 10 miles of the Mars site in Slough that are promoting Healthy Active Lifestyles, the Environment, or Pet Welfare.

Closing Dates: Open all year round

Notes: Applicants must be based within 10 miles of the Mars site in Slough.

Project Support Grants
Amount: £300 to £2,000

Purpose: A grant for larger single items of expenditure on a non-recurring basis, e.g. research work, project start-up costs, equipment etc.  

Closing dates: 1st March and 1st October each year

Notes: Applications are limited to one per organisation each year. The Grants Committee may request a meeting or visit with applicants.

Quick Response Grants
Amount: up to £500

Purpose: A grant specifically geared to meeting the needs of small voluntary organisations or community groups with little or no income, and whose resources are not large enough to meet the current demand.  Grants are made on a rolling basis with a decision within one month of written application.

Closing dates: Open year round

Notes: Applications are limited to one per organisation per year.
